Two memorial services were held for Joe. The first was held at Whiting Forensic Institute, where Joe was a patient when he died. This service had a uniquely consoling effect on our family because the comments by the chaplain, Printice Roberts-Toler were uplifting and especially because of the moving comments offered by Joe's fellow patients. Reverend Roberts-Toler's reflections are included below.
The second service was held for Joe's extended family and focused on the importance of family and art in Joe's life. The pamphlet created for that service is reproduced below. If you would like a copy of the pamphlet, please send an email request, including your mailing address.
